This website at globalcrisisindex.co.uk (the "Site") is operated under the name Global Crisis Index ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Site you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. You can contact us at hello@globalcrisisindex.co.uk.
The Site publishes an educational "risk temperature" index and related commentary distilled from publicly available research. The content is provided for general information and education only. It is not investment advice, financial advice, a personal recommendation, an invitation or inducement to engage in investment activity, or a forecast or probability of any market event. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and nothing on the Site constitutes a regulated activity. The Site contains no analysis of, or recommendations concerning, markets in mainland China. You should obtain professional advice before making financial decisions and must not rely on the Site as a basis for any decision.
Unless otherwise stated, we own or licence all intellectual property rights in the Site, including: the "Global Crisis Index" name and wordmark; the design, text, graphics and imagery; the index methodology and its written expression; and the daily index readings, factor scores and their compilation, which are protected as a database under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and the Copyright and Rights in Databases Regulations 1997. All such rights are reserved.
Underlying source data remains the property of its respective publishers (including FRED / Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, the U.S. Office of Financial Research, the Bank for International Settlements, Robert Shiller (Yale), Caldara & Iacoviello (GPR) and the Federal Reserve Board) and is credited on the Site. Third-party names and marks are the property of their owners; no affiliation or endorsement is implied.
We grant media, creators and researchers a free, non-exclusive, revocable licence to cite the Site's readings and charts, on two conditions: (a) attribution to "Global Crisis Index" together with globalcrisisindex.co.uk; and (b) no alteration of figures or risk bands, and no presentation of any reading as a "crash probability" or investment signal. Any commercial use — including embedding in apps, terminals, paid products or systematic redistribution — requires our prior written licence via hello@globalcrisisindex.co.uk.
You must not: misrepresent the Site's content or your association with us; use the content to pass off any product or service as ours; scrape or extract a substantial part of the index database other than as permitted by the citation licence; interfere with the operation or security of the Site; or use the Site for any unlawful purpose.
The Site is updated automatically each day and is provided "as is" and "as available". While we take care with our sources and methodology — which is published openly on the Site — we give no warranty that the content is accurate, complete or up to date, and we may change, suspend or withdraw content at any time without notice. Historical readings do not indicate future readings.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales. Subject to that, we exclude all implied conditions, warranties and representations, and we shall not be liable for any loss or damage — including loss of profit, investment loss or indirect or consequential loss — arising from use of, or reliance on, the Site or its content. The Site is provided free of charge for information purposes; you accept that this limitation is reasonable on that basis.
Where the Site links to third-party websites or reproduces attributed third-party figures, we are not responsible for third-party content and such links do not imply endorsement.
We may revise these terms at any time by updating this page. The version in force is the one published at the time of your use of the Site.
If any provision of these terms is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in force. A failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers resident elsewhere retain any mandatory protections and forum rights granted by their local law.
